New York: Henry Holt and Company, 1986. First Edition. First Printing. good, good. 564, illus., appendix, biblio, index, slight wear DJ edges, fr DJ flap creased, some fore-edge soiling. Inscribed by the author. Corners of a few pages creased. Captain Beach was a Naval Academy graduate, class of 1939, and served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He later served as the Naval Assistant to General Omar Bradley, when he was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He later served as Naval Aide to President Dwight Eisenhower.
