London: Ray Cooney Productions, 1972. Draft script for the British play, undated, circa 1972. Copy belonging to actor John Clive, who played the role of James, with his name on the front wrapper in manuscript pencil, and his annotations throughout in manuscript pencil and ink.
Robin Hawdon's first major success as a playwright, a romantic two act comedy about a TV game show host. Hawdon had already a few films to his credit, including "We Joined the Navy" (1962), "Bedazzled" (1967), "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" (1970), and "Burke & Hare" (1972), and he began a screenwriting career shortly after this play was written.
Goldenrod untitled wrappers with a die-cut title window in the British style. Title page present, undated, with credits for writer Robin Hawdon. 111 leaves, with last page of text numbered 2.2.57. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages and wrapper Very Good plus, bound internally with two silver brads.
