About This Item
San Diego, California: American Astronautical Society (AAS), 1981. viii, 334 pages. Volume 3 in the AAS History Series. Laid in is a color photograph of Fred Durant and others in attendance at the retirement party for NASA archivist Lee Saegesser. Through national meetings, technical meetings, symposia and publications, the American Astronautical Society has provided the perspectives and expertise of the leading American space professionals in advancing all space activities. In this book ten of those professionals provide important perspectives on the history and future of the space program just as the Space Shuttle era was beginning. The book offered here is from the personal collection of Lee Saegesser, NASA's chief archivist for 30 years. Saegesser has highlighted the line in the introduction that acknowledges the assistance he provided each of the 10 authors of this report. He also has written on the verso of the photo information about the occasion. The book is in very good condition: clean, bright, and tight, with minimal edgewear.. First Edition. Paperback.
