About This Item

New York, Chicago and San Francisco: Belford, Clarke & Co, 1888. Hardcover. 208pp. Octavo [22 cm] 1/4 dark brown cloth with illustrated paper over boards. Good. The covers are mildly rubbed and scratched, and the underlying boards are exposed along the edges. There are several small losses from the paper on the rear cover. The spine is rolled, and the cloth at the spine ends is a little frayed. There is a short split in the cloth along the front joint. The hinges have been reinforced, and there is a loss from the paper along the fore edge of the front pastedown. The loss measures 1/2" wide by 3 and 1/2" tall. There are sporadic stains on the pages. The illustration at p. 19 has a small open tear and a long closed tear. Profusely illustrated.
