Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First edition, third state of the author's second book with "The History of the Bible advertisement on page 654. BAL 3316. Octavo, bound in publisher's original cloth. Tight, square, and solidly bound. Spine has been professionally re-backed and old spine label laid over. End papers replaced as well, not the original. Some light spotting to boards and edge wear to bottom boards. Text block edges have tanned. Internally clean with some tanning to end papers. It was the best-selling of Twain's works during his lifetime, as well as being one of the best-selling travel books of all time.
