About This Item
London, W Bulmer, 1803 sixth edition. xxiv and 288 pages. 3 folding copper plates. Modern imitation half calf. The reputation of 'General' Lloyd, author of the History of the Seven Years War, was resurrected by Basil Liddell Hart. His editor, John Drummond, prefaces this book with a bowdlerised account of his life. Lloyd's plans for the defence of England were well informed since he himself had planned a projected French invasion in support of the Jacobites in 1744.
