London: Clarke, Beeton, & Co, 1853. First Edition. Very Good. [ca 1852, 1853]. The first combined English illustrated edition. The first and second series, bound together in one volume. Bound in contemporary half leather over diced grain cloth, featuring 26 wood engravings throughout the first series, and 16 throughout the second. These two illustrated volumes of Poe's stories (the first including poems) were issued in Great Britain as part of the Readable Books series. Pages toned, owner name to blank recto of frontis illustration of the Second Series. Uncommon.
