London: Hodder and Stoughton Limited, undated, Circa 1925. 8vo, 320pp with 11 full page colour illustrations plus frontispiece by Mabel Lucie Attwell. Hardcover, No Dust jacket. Blue cloth boards with illustrated front cover are marked and have the remnants of a couple of stickers on front board, the spine is discoloured and there is some wear around the edges and spine. Inside previous owner's bookplate on FFE and an inscription dated 1926, otherwise a nice copy of this very early edition of a children's classic
Synopsis
Peter Pan: or, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up (1904) is the title of Scottish playwright and novelist James M. Barrie's most famous play, and Peter and Wendy is the title of Barrie's 1911 novelization of it. Both tell the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous little boy who can fly, and his adventures on the island of Neverland with Wendy Darling and her brothers, the fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, the Indian princess Tiger Lily, and the pirate Captain Hook.
