About This Item

London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1979. Hardcover . Used - near fine. 4to., Possibly the limited edition of 500 copies, but no indication within. As this appears to be lacking the slipcase, we suspect that the limitation notice was on a laid in slip of paper or on the slipcase. Otherwise it appears to match the limited edition in every way. Dark blue leather covered boards with gilt, brown and cream colored decorations on spine and front cover. A.E.G. 185pp. Thin, short scratches to gilt fore edge. Although the condition of the covers are nearly as new the gilt stamping on the spine appears to be rubbed (maybe binder error?).

Synopsis

Peter Pan: or, The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up (1904) is the title of Scottish playwright and novelist James M. Barrie's most famous play, and Peter and Wendy is the title of Barrie's 1911 novelization of it. Both tell the story of Peter Pan, a mischievous little boy who can fly, and his adventures on the island of Neverland with Wendy Darling and her brothers, the fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, the Indian princess Tiger Lily, and the pirate Captain Hook.
