We offer a large archive of fireworks labels dating to the 1970s, including 175+ labels collected from various manufacturers and countries, mostly India and China, but with a few from Japan and even America. The archive is contained in two binders labeled "FIREWORKS LABELS ALBUM NO. 3" (containing 82 labels mostly of Indian origin), and "FIREWORKS LABELS ALBUM NO 4." (99 labels, mostly of Chinese/Macau origin with a few from Japan and America). This archive was collected in the 1970s (presumably by someone in the fireworks business), and placed in old photograph albums with the "magnetic glue" format which has transferred to the backs of many of the labels. In some cases lines are visible on the front of the labels. We've left the labels in the albums as is, partly because there are some penciled notes on some pages indicating a date or (in album 4) "PGII CONV" presumably for the Pyrotechnics Guide annual conventions. Light overall soiling, occasional penciled notations. Profusely illustrated, mostly in black and white. The leaf before page 50 is a glossy toned insert for HAVONE cigarette cases. Pages 50-61 consist of a glossy monochrome section for Oneida Community plate items. Pages in the rear are ordering sheets and additional items not in the regular catalog. Given the differences in production values, it is apparent that the separate sections were printed separately and then stapled together, the whole enclosed in thin paper covers. Wraps. Fall River, Massachusetts: E. J. Perry Machinery Corp, 1950. Very Good. A group of eight industrial photographs in 8 x 10 and 10 x 8 formats. Blank on verso. Minor blemishes, nice condition. E. J. Perry Machinery Corporation was an industrial processing machinery manufacturer. Six of the eight photographs have visible plates from the company on the equipment - the other two fit based on type (many of these appear to be industrial drying equipment). A nice set of images of a Fall River, Massachusetts company. According to the April 23, 1945 issue of "Steel, the Magazine of Metalworking and Metal Producing" the company moved from New Bedford to Fall River. One of the images has the Fall River address on it, hence we've dated these images to circa 1950. The 1936 New Bedford directory shows a number of machinists in the company employ.

No printer's imprint, apparently as issued. The first paragraph states "The people of the Free States have so long yielded to the arrogant demands of the Slave Oligarchy of the South, that the latter has come to think it can carry any measure it seems fit, no matter how degrading it may be to the character of the free white men of the North." It finishes with "The New York Day Book, one of two papers in New York City that support James Buchanan, proposes to enslave poor AMERICANS, GERMANS and IRISH, who may fall into poverty and be unable to support their families. Van Dyke." The work is an odd arrangement, with various additional articles, summaries of the books to be read, and guidance to readers. Several articles by Sturgis, Cox, La Farge and others about the books under consideration.
