The pages are bright and clean. The cover is reasonably bright and clean with the following faults: there are some small slits on the spine where the cloth has weakened around the edges of the colored areas because of the stamping process, also there is a small spot on the spine and a small paint stain on the back cover near the bottom corner. 1873 Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes Humpty Dumpty Twinkle Little Star Jack n Jill
There can hardly be found a name or pseudonym so synonymous with nursery rhymes as Mother Goose. This charming 19th-century pictorial collection of the classic children's work was composed by James William Elliot, with song lyrics by M.L. Elliot. Each song includes a delightful corresponding woodcut vignette. These illustrations are by a variety of artists under the supervision of the esteemed English engravers, the Brothers Dalziel, George, and Edward.
Included within are some of the most famous pieces such as 'Mistress Mary, Quite Contrary,' 'Jack and Jill,' 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,' 'Dickory, Dickory, Dock,' 'Little Bo-Peep,' 'Little Jack Horner,' 'Humpty Dumpty,' 'Hey Diddle Diddle,' and so many more!

Description:
Chicago, Illinois: Scott, Foresman and Company, 1951. Fabulous vintage Dick and Jane - an oversized folio measuring approximately 19 x 24-1/2", still in original presentation covers with attached board-stands. Three ring internal binder (as issued) with each large folio of four pictures bound together with reinforced (again, as issued) leatherette spines. Contains all 6 "stories" (a total of 24 large pictures) from the We Look and See, the beginning pre-Primer. It would appear that pages 1 and 2 - likely introduction notes, are missing - but ALL THE MARVELLOUS 1950s pages are there. And glorious they are! Clean, bright and fresh, each page has no marks whatsoever - perhaps a touch of age toning and faint signs of handling along outer page edges, otherwise truly fine. The leatherette binder/presentation folder is still in reasonable condition and has the original paste-down label on front. Spines are beginning to crack and the corners are a little bumped, but otherwise… Read More
