1885 - A Treatise on The Science and Practice of Midwifery. W. S. Playfair, M.D., F.R.C.P., Fourth American Edition from the Fifth English Edition with Notes and Additions by Robert P. Harris, M.D. Philadelphia: Lea Brothers & Co. 1885.The author presented this classic book on the practice of midwifery, updating it from the British view of the practice. Since American opinions differed somewhat from those of Great Britain, the American editor added notes and information apropos to American practice, updating it to the current publication date. All three plates are original to the book, and it has 201 additional illustrations.Condition: This rarely-found early edition of Playfair's book is an original with firm binding. We found no writing or plates within the text block. With its 3 original plates and 201 illustrations, it is special. Expected minor corner and spine wear.
