Bound in contemporary or somewhat later quarter black morocco with marbled boards and endpapers. Jean Louis Brachet (1789-1858) French professor of pathology and a member of L'Académie imperiale de médecine. His book Traite de l' Hysterie was an important early modern study on the subject. The author classifies and describes different forms of hysteria in males and females. [Hirsch I, p. 554-555].
