Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Torch Press, 1909. One of only 200 unnumbered copies privately printed, this title is a quite rare biography of Poe. Stedman's biographical essay on Poe first appeared in print in 1880 in Scribner's Monthly. Engraved frontispiece portrait of Poe and another engraved portrait of author Stedman, both with tissue guards captioned in red. Includes the original glassine dustjacket, which has a few small chips. The book has an acetate/plastic cover which protects both the book and glassine dj. Attractive book with original green cloth having spine and front cover lettered and ruled in bright gilt. Printed on untrimmed laid paper.T.e.g. 95 pp. A rare and exceptionally well-preserved addition to any Poe collection.. Limited Edition. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
