LACKING PORTRAIT AND 1 ENGRAVED PLATE, present are eighteen copper plates and 1 duplicate plate which has been inserted instead of the frontispiece portrait. Binding worn and rubbed, hinges cracked, crude but effective repairs to cords, inner paper hinges cracked, binding tight and firm, tiny bookseller's label on front pastedown, early signature on front endpaper, light blotchy browning throughout to text, a little heavy in 1 or 2 places, legibility not affected at all, 1 plate reinserted slightly out of place on a tab (page 153) with a repair to lower margin and loss of 4 letters of the caption, leaves G8-G12 slightly chipped in fore-edge margin, old paper repairs to margin of G9 and G10, G6 and G7 reinserted neatly. Acceptable copy, text complete (portrait and 1 plate missing as noted). First published by Symonds in 1792, reprinted in 1796. On verso title page is an advert for the 7th edition of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen and our book is sometimes found bound after it. Although our Sequel is inspired by Bruce's travels in Africa, the title reveals the many diverse adventures in various countries had by the Baron after his trip to Africa.
