The First Edition has for sale this very rare and collectable early edition of the Lewis Carroll biography by his nephew, Stuart Dodgson Collingwood The Life and Letters of Lewis Carroll. This edition was published by Thomas Nelson, it is not dated but is believed to have been published in 1900. This is a small book measuring 4.50 x 6.50 inches (approximate).____The original blue boards are profusely illustrated to the front board and have very bright gilt lettering to the spine. The boards are very crisp and attractive being in overall Near Fine condition with only very slight corner knocks and slight knocks to the top and bottom of the spine. Otherwise these are an extremely clean and attractive set of boards.____There are 372 numbered pages, top edge gilt, and a 12 page Thomas Nelson catalogue to the end of the book. The pages are very clean and in overall Very Good condition with very light marks to the fore edge of the pages which is barely noticeable, and only when the book is closed.____This is an excellent example of one of the most authoritative biographies of one of the 19th century's foremost children's author of children's illustrated books, Lewis Carroll, who gave us such children's classic story books as: Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, The Hunting of the Snark, and so much more..
