A fair copy only, Internally good +, paper cream white with scattered light foxing primarily at the margins, a few marginal dampstains not affecting text, BUT binding is broken, front cover loose, worn, frayed and stained, back cover and back strip cloth missing. Covers of soft cover edition bound in (French books of the period are often published simultaeously in soft and hard cover editions ). Includes intertextual vignette illustrations of artists. Approximately seven illustrations have been cut out from the pages. Because of damage already done, this is probably just a breaking copy, but the gravures are quite bright and clear.
