Bound in the first-issue dust wrapper with burgundy endpapers. Fore-edges of the leaves are untrimmed. The wrapper retains the publisher's price of $5.95 in the upper right of the front flap & is only minimally shelf-rubbed at the extremities. A very good or better copy - 2" closed tear at bottom inner edge of the front cover. Custom clamshell case. Basis for the icy 1967 documentary-style film directed by Richard Brooks and starring Robert Blake and Scott Wilson.
