London, Paris, New York & Melbourne: Cassell & Company, Limited. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. W. H. J. Boot. 12mos. xvi, 160; xvi, 168 pages, indexed at the end of Volume II. Hardcovers bound in 3/4 dark navy blue leather with burgundy marbled paper-covered boards. Raised bands on the spines with compartments tooled in gilt and with burgundy and brown leather labels on the spines. All edges marbled, and with marbled endpapers. Light to moderate wear to the bindings. The hinges are secure and the leather is supple. There is a bit of rubbing to the front board of Volume I. Text blocks are sturdy. The text is a little toned shows some foxing around the plates. Overall an attractive set. Collates complete with 80 color plates. Each volume contains 20 trees, and each tree has two color plates: one image of the tree and a second image of the leaves, flowers, fruit or nuts. No date; likely late 19th century.
