Late 1930s editions of three novels in Elsie Oxenham's enormously popular series of novels for young girls, each in their original dust wrapper. Present here are three novels that appeared early in Oxenham's series, which eventually extended to over sixty books.In the publisher's original dust wrappers, with 'The New Abbey Girls' price clipped, and 'The Abbey Girls' and 'Jen of the Abbey School' unclipped.'The Abbey Girls' was the second novel in the series, first published in 1920; 'The New Abbey Girls' was the fifth in the series, first published in 1923, and 'Jen of the Abbey School' was the ninth in the series, and first published in 1927.Undated; dated c.1937 via list of titles facing the title page, and advertisements to dust wrapper rear wraps. In the publisher's original cloth bindings, with two dust wrapper unclipped, and one price clipped. Boards bright, with light edge wear to back strip heads and tails. Spotting to text block fore edges. Front hinges of 'New' and 'Abbey Girls' strained, and a touch tender. Inscriptions to each front free endpaper. Significant losses to head of each dust wrapper back strip, with major loss to tail of 'New' back strip. Obtrusive fabric tape repairs to front wrap and back strip of 'New'. Chipping to tail of 'The Abbey Girls' back strip tail, with loss to tail of 'Jen'. Lacking head of front flyleaf of 'Jen'. Significant handling marks and further closed tears and small losses to rear wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good
