Soundly bound in original pictorial dust jacket with publisher's $5.95 isue price intact to unclipped front flap. Bookplate signed by Crichton is mounted to the front flyleaf. Binding just slightly shelf cocked in the spine; trace shelf/finger soiling to the front edge of the page block. Mild shelf tapping bottom front corners. Dust jacket rubbed and with a few nicks and short closed tears at edges. Accordion stress creasing to jacket front flap. Publisher's blue top stain is uniform and solid. A decent and still generally attractive signed copy of the original edition. VG-/VG- at best; Signed by Author .

Synopsis

The Andromeda Strain (1969), by Michael Crichton, is a techno-thriller novel documenting the efforts of a team of scientists investigating a deadly extraterrestrial microorganism that rapidly and fatally clots human blood while, in other people, inducing insanity that mostly ended in the insane people committing suicide or murder-suicide. It became a New York Times Bestseller. This novel established Michael Crichton as a best-selling genre author.
