About This Item
London: Hamish Hamilton, 1969. Ex school library copy with paper label inside front board and a small stamp on rev of title page and on top edge of pages. Some creasing to the edges of price-clipped dustwrapper and also some fading to the spine, minor bumping to spine ends and corners of blue boards, otherwise a good tight copy of this hard-cover childrens novel by the author of the ''Earthfasts'' trilogy and the "Choir School" quartet. The story, set in Yorkshire, involves strange goings-on at an old battlefield. The author was convicted in 2004 of eleven cases of historical sexual abuse of young girls back in the 1960s, and his books were mostly removed from library shelves. 158pp, b&w drawings.. Hard Cover. Good/Good. Illus. by Russon, Mary. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
