No fraying or wear. One small faint ink spot near top edge of front cover (size of a pea). Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound - no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Map illustrated endpapers - no names, writing or marks. Illustrated with wonderful drawings by Henry B. Kane. 272 pages with index. Dust jacket is not price clipped (3.50 on front inside flap), has chipping at top edge of rear panel extending to top spine edge (varies from 1/16" to 1" in depth) - 3/4" chip at lower left corner of front panel, several closed edge tears, slight browning. Enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. A vivid and faithful chronicle of life in the great North Woods of Canada and a storehouse of valuable information on woodcraft and nature.
