A collection of four sermons delivered "in support of an appeal which was made to build a Territorial Church in one of the dark and destitute districts of Edinburgh." Brown cloth w/decoration/rule to covers, gilt lettering to spine, 162 pages (including appendix), + three pages of press opinions + one page of advertisements for other titles by this publisher. Bumped/worn corners/spine ends, edgewear, some cover soil, 2.5" tear to left edge of front cover, chipping to spine ends, short scrapes to both hinges, internal soil, split between pages 96 and 97 (still tightly bound), a shaken signature.
