About This Item
Saint Paul MN: Brown & Bigelow Remembrance Advertising. Fine art. Small portfolio with brief explanatory captionings (titling & signature in each plate) providing a single pocket for the as-called-for four b&w plates. All four impressions appear to have been struck from engraved plates, all display intaglio frame-depressions within which 5.5x7.5 inch images appear to be original strikes pressed upon 8x10.5 sheets of alkaline semi-cardstock - although the images themselves are less textured than one would expect from steel-engraved strikes. We are not good judges, but the results are quite presentable in any case. Plates are immaculate, the light portfolio bears offset smudges, fleck-soiling, and mild edgewear. An enlightening catch-penny undertaken by an advertising agency. Barrymore, a cinema giant, could also limn seagulls & sailboats & coastal shanties pretty darn well.
