New Directions, [1958], (ca 1980). Second Printing stated without date, but list of Selected Works opposite title page includes titles published up to 1979. Hardbound, fairly uncommon red cloth edition with gilt-lettered spine, embossed LF on lower corner of front board, in very-good+ condition with light wear at top of spine, hint of soiling to spine, some light spotting to page edges, interior clean and unmarked, in glassine dj which has suffered a bit with some loss in the middle of the spine, some loss at spine ends and a crease to front panel. Not the slipcase edition.

Synopsis

A Coney Island of the Mind is a collection of poetry by Lawrence Ferlinghetti originally published in 1958. It contains some of Ferlinghetti's most famous poems, such as I am Waiting, and Junkman's Obbligato, which were created for jazz accompaniment. There are approximately a million copies in print of A Coney Island, and the book has been translated into over a dozen languages. It remains one of the best-selling and most popular books of poetry ever published.
