New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1953. Hardcover. Near Fine/Very Good. First edition. Octavo. 148pp. Illustrated reproducing cartoons by William Steig. Faint, scattered foxing on endpapers, tips of spine are lightly rubbed, else a near fine copy in very good pictorial dust jacket, moderately tanned and rubbed on spine and extremities, short tear and thin chip at crown of spine with early clear tape mend on verso. "This volume contains 46 dreams, of which 8 have never before appeared in print. It also contains 42 other drawings of the predicaments and preoccupations of children, of which 14 have never before been printed" - from the dust jacket. Inscribed by Steig on the front flyleaf: "Specially autographed for Deborah Benson Covington and her husband (name unknown). Bill Steig.
