Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin and Company, 1899. Hardcover. Very Good. 2 Volumes. xvi, 294pp; xvi, 400pp. Burgundy cloth boards with gilt lettered spines. Top edges gilt. With light wear at head and heel of spines, spines a bit faded. A clean and tight set, complete with all maps.
Synopsis
This is Volume 1 (I haven't seen Volume 2 online yet). Fiske tells a delightful and informative series of stories and provides authoritative historical framework, for the development of New York. Volume 1 deals almost entirely with Dutch lore. Highly recommended for anyone with interest in New York.
