Items bound into later morocco folder, gilt frames with corner fleurons to boards, gilt title to front board, marbled-paper pastedowns bordered by gilt dentelles. Moderate rubbing to extremities of folder, light edgewear and light soiling to facsimile, a few short splits along fold lines and a few minor tears to edges, light browning to pamphlet, rear wrapper lacking, front wrapper detached, lightly soiled and lightly edgeworn. Bookplate of Henry Robert Charles Martin, owner stamp of A.V. Phillips and brief annotations by Phillips to verso of front wrapper, Phillips stamp and gift inscription from Phillips to John S. Wurts to rear pastedown. $850. * Our copy of this apparently unrecorded translation/facsimile has two interesting associations. Martin [1889-1942] was an officer of arms at the College of Arms in London (and notable badminton player). At some point he passed this to Philipps, who later presented it to Wurts [1876-1958], the author of an important eight-volume study of Magna Carta. It appears to be unrecorded. No copies listed on OCLC or Library Hub.
