About This Item
New York: Benziger Brothers, 1919. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. The interior of the book is tight and clean. A former owner has put his name and that of the man who gave it to him twice on the free front end paper -- once in ink, and once in blue pencil, and there is also a discoloured spot between the two that looks as though it might be the remains of a decorative stamp. There are no marks in the interior, though, and the binding is tight. The blue cloth covers show a bit of light wear to edges and tips, and a bit of discolouration on the spine, but no other problems. The dust jacket, however, is only in Good condition. It is a plain brown paper with black lettering, and the paper shows a pattern of water spots, light edgewear, and a 1.5 inch section missing from the bottom of the spine -- overall, a bit shabby but quite respectable. Synopsis: This is a story for children, described on the back panel of the dust jacket as: "A pathetic story of a little Italian boy who is brought back to the faith of his fathers despite the machinations of clever proselytizers".
