Simla, India: Government Monotype Press, India, 1907. Book. Good. Hardcover. Half-leather and dark green cloth. Raised bands on the spine with red leather labels and gilt lettering. The lower label stamped "For Official Use Only." No. 1384 stamped in gilt on the upper leather corner of the front cover. Rubbing wear to the leather, slight evidence of powder residue (red rot) from the some parts of the leather, and one of the spine labels is starting to peel slightly. The cloth has some insect damage along the fore-edges. Some foxing to endpapers, affecting the bookplate on the front endpaper, and on several adjacent pages. The bookplate of an early British aviator, Neville Morris Jenkins, is affixed on the front pastedown. He is listed as Lt. Neville Morris Jenkins RA, one of the pilots receiving an Aviator's Certificate from the Royal Aero Club in 1913. 249 pages illustrated with seven sketch maps in the text: General Ochterlony's Operations Round Malaun 1814, Country Round Khatmandu, Operations in Sikkim, the Advance to Gyantse, Jong and Gompa of Gyantse, Reconnaissance Sketch from Palla Village, and Operations in Bhutan. Additionally, a large fold-out map is included in a rear cover pocket: General Map to illustrate Volume IV of Frontier and Overseas Expeditions.
