London: Martin Secker, 1933. First english Edition. Cloth. Good/Poor. First English edition. Blue cloth in unclipped jacket. Xvi, 286 pp., plus one page of ads in the rear. A collection of stories by Franz Kafka, selected from previously unpublished work. POOR/FAIR jacket on a GOOD book. Jacket torn along the length of its front hinge, repaired poorly with paper scraps on the reverse, and with a partial calendar peeking through on the outside. Some loss of jacket along the tear, with the lower two inches of the jacket missing. Three inch tear to the lower rear jacket flap hinge. Heavy toning to the jacket spine and rear panel. Some soiling. Jacket extremities rather scuffed, bumped and worn. Minor staining to the rear panel and head of the spine. Mostly minor fading and toning to the book, with some scuffing along the extremities and bumping to the corners. Minor toning to the interior.
