Chicago: H. De F. Stewart, 1916. Grey hardcover cloth binding square and tight, soiled, bumped corners. Interior clean bright and tight. A few smudges on endpapers. 190 pages. Color frontispiece, 13 b/w plates + 1 color plate among text. Before the story begins, there is a tribute to Mrs. Emma Bradley, the model for the "Beautiful Lady" in the story. The plate opposite the tribute is a b/w photo of Mrs. Bradley and it is missing. The other 12 b/w plates and the 2 color plates are intact. Preface by James M. Gray. An interesting tale about a greyhound named Fanny, born in a kennel owned by a wealthy gentleman and descended of English racing stock. After 3 months as a puppy with a doctor, she began her compansionhip with "Beautiful Lady" and her family. A story told with warmth and charm, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, with lots of Fanny's human and animal friends.. Illus. by Illustrated. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Revised Edition. Hardcover.
