Laid in is lovely postcard from the Bodleian Library, Oxford: "Dear Avis / This is definitely not as / attractive an edition as / former ones have been, However / here it is. I am / delighted you want it. / Yours / Diana". [There's no indication who Diana is or why this postcard graces this book, but it does]. A Mimi Sheraton Time review also laid in. Fisher's good friend Avis MacVicar DeVoto, [1904 - 1989] was perhaps best known for her friendship with Julia Child & lengthy correspondence tracing the evolution of Volume I of Mastering the Art of French Cooking from its inception to its publication. An excellent copy.
