Sepia toned photograph of Hilda Murrell as a frontispiece. The text is illustrated with colour photographs interspersed with Hilda Murrell's botanical drawings. Hilda Murrell was well known Rose grower, particularly of the old fashioned roses. But, she was also concerned about the countryside and wildlife of Britain, whilst keeping diaries on her many treks to the various British, Scottish and Irish environments. Hilda Murrell was murdered in March 1985  the murderers have never been found, and, why she was targeted. Rubbing of the tax strip corners and of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges.
