About This Item
Chicago: Fergus Printing Company, 1876. Paperback. 8vo. Stiff salmon wrappers. 31pp. Partly uncut. Very good. Chip at upper left corner of front wrapper and a tad rough cut along top edge; partly uncut. Tight and nice first edition of this address by the attorney, anti-slavery advocate and friend of Lincoln (1796-1867) and president of the Chicago Historical Society who should know well whereof he spoke -- he entered Illinois in 1818 less than one month after it achieved statehood! Very uncommon.
