Portland: Bailey & Noyes, 1865. Second Edition. Revised and Enlarged. Hardcover. Good. Octavo. xiii, xiv (blank), [1], pages 9-928, [1]. Complete. Illustrated with folding frontispiece view, 3 plate views in text, portrait of the author in text, 3 folding maps, and facsimile signatures. Green cloth hardcover ruled in blind on the covers with gilt title on the spine. Cloth is worn on the spine with light chips head and base of the spine. Corners are bumped and worn. Front hinge slightly cracked. Maps are folded with light toning at the edges. The first map (plan of ancient Falmouth), page 94, has an approx. 2" closed tear. Binding cords are partly visible between some of the pages but the binding is still sturdy with no loose pages. Previous owners inscription written on the right front flyleaf.
