Pittsburgh: The Hunt Botanical Library, 1966. Hunt Facsimile Series - 1500 Copies . Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. 8vo. xi,91 pgs. Translated by Raef Payne. Commentary by Wilfrid Blunt. Illustrations from linoleum cuts by Henry Evans. Custom, full leather binding by Stan Toller, a local book binder / hobbyist, active in the 1980's and 90's in Victoria, British Columbia.This title is bound in cream colour leather with age toned highlights to create a vellum look. The inlaid green accents, front & back, are also leather. The title calligraphy along the spine was done by F.Salmon. This information is handwritten with calligraphy at the bottom of the colophon page. A rich green Japanese paper was chosen for the endpapers with the pastedown paper bordered in green leather with two cream leather accents at the corners (photos) The free endpaper is heavier paper stock with the Japan paper over. The rear endpapers are treated the same and has the binders blindstamp along the bottom dated 1986.The text is fine and unmarked. A unique offering by a local craftsman. Other photos available.
