About This Item
Wilmington, NC: Broadfoot Publishing Co, 1991. Octavo. 83pp, illustrated with photographic images and a folding map. First published in 1955. The editor, a Confederate historian, discovered the lost account of the Battle of Corinth in an old farmhouse. He had found it to be the only existing copy. It was written in a simple, straightforward recital and tells the story just the way an old timer sitting around a courthouse at Corinth would talk about what happened. It includes the account of the Court Martial of Gen. Van Dorn, which indicates the weaknesses of the Confederate command and strategy. Bound in black cloth, spine lettering gilt. A fine bright copy in a very good pictorial dust jacket with rubbing to edges.
