About This Item

Images Publications. Reprinted 1992. (10393) Paperback. 149 pages. B.w. photographs. Fine in a fine papercover. No markings or inscriptions. Appears unread. George Everett was a farm worker born before the turn of the century who began harvesting with a scythe and didn't leave the land until the combine harvester had arrived. He might never have left the village but for the First World War and his account of fighting in the trenches, and at the front during the Battle of the Somme is very matter of fact.
