About This Item

Lot of fliers / leaflets / short programs includes: (1) Montgomery Concert Course Announces Season of 1947-48 Four Star Attractions single sheet leaflet (previous owner has made pencil notes indicating days of performances); (2) Montgomery Concert Course and Charles L. Wagner Present IL TROVATORE Italian Opera in Four Acts, Eight Scenes; (3) Montgomery Concert Course Presents New York Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra Under the Direction of Eugene Ormandy; (4) Montgomery Concert Course and Charles L. Wagner Present MADAMA BUTTERFLY Opera in Three Acts; (5) Montgomery Concert Course Presents James Melton, Leading Tenor, Metropolitan Opera Association (two heavily toned newspaper clippings laid in with off-setting); (6) Alabama Theatres, Inc., Presents "Dear Ruth," A Comedy by Norman Krasna; (7) A single sheet of hotel stationary from The Whitley, Montgomery's Largest Hotel, with a small tear and no loss at bottom corner edge (see photo for close-up). The Concert Course performances all occurred at Sidney Lanier Auditorium; the Krasna play occurred at Lanier High School Auditorium. All items measure 9 x 6 inches except the Krasna play program, which measures 6 x 4 inches. Each program is 4-sided with a local advertisement on the rear panel. Condition is GOOD overall with age wear and toning and the occasional edge nick and light crease. Several items are quite limp and prone to tear, as original printing was not on a high quality paper. Each item is protected against further wear in a clear display sleeve with white card-stock backing board.
