About This Item
Paris: Charpentier, Libraire-Editeur, 1866. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. M. Bida. Two elegant volumes bound in 1/2 leather with marbled boards. Boards are rubbed and corners are chipped, lacking leather tips. Maroon leather spines are lightly worn at extremities but very attractive and hinges are sturdy and functional. Spines decorated with five raised bands and gilt lettering/tooling. Gilt head edges, marbled endsheets. Green silk ribbon markers. Both volumes are illustrated with handsome engravings protected by tissue guards - plates and tissue foxed. Binding tight, pages are crisp and bright with uncut fore edge. Minimal soiling/creasing.
