About This Item
Burbank, CA: Warner Brothers, 1957. Two vintage studio still photographs taken on the set of the 1957 film, one showing Marilyn Monroe having her makeup touched up, the other showing Laurence Olivier and a camera crew.
Based on Terence Rattigan's 1953 play "The Sleeping Prince," about the visiting prince of a small (fictional) Balkan nation who falls in love with an American showgirl while in London. A notoriously difficult production, forming the basis for two behind-the-scenes memoirs by Marilyn Monroe's personal assistant, Colin Clark-"The Prince, the Showgirl, and Me" (1996) and "My Week with Marilyn" (2000)-the latter sharing the title of the 2011 film.
Set and shot in London.
10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.
