Description:
LUGDUNI: APUD SEB. GRYPHIUM, 1548. In 16. Dim. 17x11 cm. Pp. 402+(14).

Description:
1671 LAWThomas Littleton Treatise on Tenures Real Estate Property Feudalism
Thomas Littleton was a 15th-century English jurist known for his treatises on tenures. This book has long been considered the first text on English property law and ownership rights. 'The Tenures', as it is more commonly known, was an important catalyst in the changes made to the feudal system in England and was made the subject of numerous commentaries a rebuttal into the 17th-century. Interestingly, portions of this work are still sited as authoritative in English and American real estate law.
This particular 1671 edition was published in London and features both England and French texts in parallel.

1698 1ed Scottish LAW Dirleton Doubts Edinburgh Scotland Political Nisbet FolioJohn Nisbet, Lord of Dirleton was a 17th-century Scottish judge who is best known for his role in the persecution of Scottish covenanters. He also published a book of his perspective, or 'doubts', on many of the laws of Scotland. This 'Doubts & Questions in the Law' discussed the implementation of Scottish laws, many dealing with treason, taxation, trial witnesses, and even punishments.
These law commentaries are collectively known as 'Dirleton's Doubts' – the ultimately companion book to law students in Scotland in the early 18th-century.
