First American edition. 232pp. + 4pp. adv. 16mo., green cloth, lettered in gilt on upper board and spine, silver grillework design to upper board and spine; top edge trimmed and ochre-stained, other edges untrimmed. This is a clean copy; ink signature and stamp to ffep. The cloth has darkened and the printing dulled to the spine, which also has a slight lean. (Edel A39.b; BAL 10604).
