About This Item

1686 World Religions Scottish Ross Pagan Occult Idols Witchcraft Rites + HERESY

Alexander Ross was an important Scottish controversialist writer who is remembered for his various attack writings on prominent figures such as Hobbes, Harvey, and Browne. He also published a series of works on astronomy and religion in which he defines aspects of world theological beliefs. The focus of 'Les Religions du Monde', 'Religions of the World', was to demonstrate that these religions were practicing heresy and idol worship. He provided context on the practices of figures such as John Huss, Michael Servetus, and Mahomet.

This fine 1683 English edition also includes 12 impressive double-page engravings.
