Original dust jacket is in fine condition with no tears, no chips, no soiling, no fading, complete. Hefty book measures 254mm tall x 187mm, and has 262 pages. Includes 50 attractive color photos by Cleare, 5 maps, 40pp appendix with letters from Whymper, death of Carrol, attempts on the Matterhorn, modern views of the 1865 accident, etc. & all the engravings & ills from the original 1st edition..
