Hardcover. 1st Edition. the first trade casebound edition of Taylor's debut novel, containing an additional hitherto unprinted chapter. 8vo. 308pp. Blue boards lettered in gold at the spine. With one full-page illustration, a map and chapter header decorations. In fine state with fractionally dust marked non-price-clipped dust wrapper. Graham Taylor's debut novel was originally self-published (by Mount Publishing Ltd.) in 2002 and made available at his local bookshop in Whitby. The book proved a huge success and was subsequently issued by Faber the following year, with this special extended edition, the first issue in hardback (bar a specially bound deluxe edition limited to just ten copies), published the same year..

Synopsis

Shadowmancer is a fantasy novel by Graham Taylor (better known as GP Taylor), first published privately in 2002. It is a Christian allegory in the form of a fantasy adventure, akin to C. S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia. Taylor wrote the book to counteract what he saw as a rise in atheist propaganda in children's books such as His Dark Materials. It is the first of four books generally referred to as The Shadowmancer Quartet and sometimes inaccurately referred to as The Shadowmancer Trilogy.
