Boards have heavy rubbing and visible bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends and moderate rubbing to spine. Unclipped jacket with visible edge wear and rubbing. There is visible tearing to corners, edges and spine ends and splitting to joints with creasing to interior.

bright full cover in color, partially unattached to body, spine shows wear 100% but complete. Interior clean and bright with a few spots of stains.

The arcade, a 3 story Greek Revival style building still stands today as a mixed use commercial and residential space. Condition: Near Fine with light soiling from glue residue. DJ has chips and tears - protected from further damage in clean Brodart jacket. Illustrated endpapers, hinges good. Frontispiece + 3 b/w full page illustrations. Cover shows boy on horse with a dog which appears to be part Airedale or Irish Terrier. Description of dog in text is mixed breeding, hair stiff and crinkly and brindle colored.
