Representing the political leaders of California during President Bill Clinton's first term in office. Of course President Clinton and Hilary Clinton as well as VP Gore are represented but the first 199 pages highlight then active goverment leaders. Each two page spread has a brief biography and portrait photo and his/her contributed recipe. Pages 201-210 are recipes contributed by various Democratic Clubs within the state of California. From a day when most of us were younger and idealistic this offers a bit of California culinary and political history. No Republican in sight (so perhaps not that idealistic.) Robert Campbell offers an interesting "Bob's Spicy Beans & Chorizo); Sam Farr's "Assemblyman Sam Farr would like Barbecued Brisket" is mouth watering. There are some typo's and some of the recipes are missing ingredients found in the directions... makes you wonder. The edges are worn and the bottom two tines of the comb are broken, the former owners name inside the cover. No other marks, stains or tears noted. A fun piece of history. ; 8vo .
